Songyang Academy
Situated at the foot of Songshan Mountain and about 5.6 miles (9 km) east of the Shaolin Temple, the Songyang Academy was one of the four greatest academies for higher education during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
Today, the Academy's buildings are all newly built. The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful natural scenery surrounding the academy make the site a good place to stroll. Other than that, it may not be of interest to visitors who are not interested in Chinese classics and Confucianism.
