Jade Gate Pass

The ruins of this once great military station lie 15 minutes drive east of Yadan National Park. This tower was once part of the Han dynasty beacon towers that extended west from the end of the Great Wall (other towers include the 1st Beacon Tower outside of Jiayuguan).

While not much is left, this site is mostly visited for its historical significance and the amazing views across the desert and nearby oasis behind the ruins.
