This day tour will transport you away from the bustling city center to the outskirts of Beijing for a visit to two of China's most important historical sites.
We'll first take you to a particularly scenic section of the Great Wall, which is less touristy than the more crowded Badaling. In addition to its fabulous views of the Wall and the surrounding hills, the Mutianyu section boasts a thrilling toboggan run that you can use to speed back down the mountainside when you're done exploring.
We will also make two stops at the Ming Tombs; the first is the underground tomb of the Wanli Emperor (the only Ming tomb to have been completely excavated), and the other is the Sacred Way, a peaceful pathway lined with carved statues of animals and emperors.
In between visits to these two ancient locales, you will enjoy a delicious, authentic lunch at a local restaurant, where you can choose a variety of specialty dishes, including freshly caught trout.
