Kunming is the gateway city to unusual land formations and minority enclaves. Dali is an old town on a beautiful mountain lake where you can stroll the shoreline and explore the alleyways of the village. Lijiang, a more than 800 year old town of the Naxi Dongba culture, skirts the base of the revered Jade dragon snow mountain peaks. Tiger Leaping Gorge, on the other side of the Jade Dragon Mountains, is one of the world's deepest river canyons. At the end of this 15 kilometer long gorge you will enter a region of Tibetan ethnicity. The town of Shangri-La is surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery and hundreds of bird and mammal species. Your tour culminates in a traverse of the environmentally diverse Pudacuo National Park.
